Preparation for hair transplant surgery
A preoperative assessment will be requested.
A few days before and on the day of the operation, medication may be indicated during the first consultation.
To reduce the risks as much as possible, the morning of the operation you must use an antiseptic shampoo. Before entering the operating room another shampoo will be performed.
An antibiotic treatment will be prescribed the day before and the days following the procedure.
It is necessary to respect a mandatory period of 15 days minimum between the initial consultation before any aesthetic act.
It is important to take photographs before and after the micro hair transplant.
Hair transplant procedure
The operation is performed under local anesthesia.
Beforehand, marking with a pencil makes it possible to delimit the bald area to be treated and the hairy area to be sampled.
The sampling zone is shaved, maintaining a length of one millimeter . The determination of the donor surface allows the removal of a defined number of follicular units depending on the density.
The Hair Collection Phase
During the collection phase. The patient is positioned lying on his stomach. The head is placed on a suitable cushion open at face level to ensure good breathing.
FUE hair grafts are extracted one by one using micro-instruments
The hair implants are checked to verify their quality and then stored in frozen serum before being reimplanted.
How long does the collection phase last?
Each follicular unit contains 2 to 3 hairs. 1000 follicular units correspond to an amount of 2000 to 3000 hairs.
On average 1000 follicular units are collected in 1h00 to 1h30 depending on the type of scalp.
Implantation of follicular units
After collecting all the follicular units, the patient lies down on his back. The second phase begins: the implantation of the follicular units.
The doctor makes micro-slits according to a predetermined plan to guarantee a natural result. Then the collaborating technicians delicately place the micro-grafts in the micro-slots.
How long does the implantation take
An FUE hair transplant intervention lasts between 3h00 and 3h30 for 1000 implants and 6h00 to 7h00 for 2000 implants. For sessions of 3000 to 4000 implants, the intervention can be carried out over 2 days.
What are the postoperative consequences:
The intervention takes place under local anesthesia and you can return home after the micro-grafting session.

There is no bandage
Edema in the grafted region may appear within 24 to 48 hours following the intervention of micro-grafts. This swelling can quickly migrate to the forehead and eyelids giving them a puffy appearance and then disappears after 3 to 4 days.
In the 2 to 3 days following the operation, small scabs will form on each micro-graft. These will take about 5-7 days to fall off. Some implanted hair will fall out with the scabs.
The regrowth of her hair will take place from the 3rd month . Hair growth is then about 1 cm per month.
Control consultation
Follow-up consultations are planned 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 1 year after a hair transplant intervention, including a clinical examination and the production of digital photographs.
How soon after the hair transplant can you see the results
All or part of the transplanted hair may fall out in the days following the operation, which is perfectly normal. The aesthetic result could only be really satisfactory after 9 months. Indeed, you will have to wait 6 to 12 months to judge the result.
Instructions to follow
On the day of the operation and for the following 21 days, it is forbidden to put on clothes over the head. All shirts must be buttonable in front as well as sweaters or vests. Pulling a cloth over the area where the micro-grafts are implanted can pull the grafts out.
A few days later (5 days usually) you can take your shower, go to work and resume all your normal activities (apart from sport for a few days, or even a few weeks for certain violent sports).
