FUE or Follicle Unit Extraction is a gentle, ultra-precise technique that requires rigor and meticulousness and above all great experience. It has revolutionized old techniques by:
their 100% natural results, without any difference with other hair,
without scalpel and therefore without incision, suture or scar,
painless thanks to the techniques of pre-anaesthesia and local anesthesia,
without hospitalization,
without painful or complicated consequences and without post-operative oedema,
Hair removal is completely painless thanks to the use of microsurgical equipment. The follicular units are removed one by one in a delicate way and then immediately stored in physiological saline. It is possible to remove, depending on the bald area, between 1000 and 2000 follicular units representing 2000 to 6000 transplanted hairs.
The hair is implanted one by one, respecting its natural direction of growth.
The results are obtained in 4 to 6 months. Photographs are taken before and after FUE.
FUE is useful to densify certain sparse areas of the scalp, or to make an old unsightly result natural in “field of leeks or doll's hair”.
The duration of the session varies according to the surface to be treated: the larger the surface, the longer the intervention: on average between 5 and 6 hours.
Hair growth can usefully be supplemented by injections of PRP, or Plasma Rich in Platelets and Growth Factors (this is the patient's plasma taken by a simple blood test, processed by centrifuge) and reinjected into the grafted areas.
Shampoos are possible the next day and it is advisable to resume sports activities after a week.
FUT or Follicle Unit Tansposition is also a modern technique by selection under a microscope of follicular units taken from a small strip of scalp above the neck. The scar located in a hairy area is totally invisible, even immediately after the session.
It is often aimed at women or men with long hair, who do not wish to shave it for FUE techniques.
The number of hairs and the results are identical to those of FUE.
The duration of the intervention is shorter: 2h30 to 3h on average for the same number of hairs. The cost is therefore less expensive.
