Hair transplantation is an operation that is performed under local anesthesia and does not require hospitalization. The most used techniques, and that you will find at the MEDEA center, are: the FUE Technique and the FUT Technique.
Autotransplantation with FUE Technique
This is the most widespread technique at the moment: the bulbs are extracted from the scalp (previously shaved) by means of circular micro-scalpels with a diameter of 0.6 mm, without making any incisions, under local anesthesia.

The sampling area heals within 7-12 days and practically no scars are visible.
During the surgery, about 2,500 grafts are extracted on average (each containing 1 to 3 bulbs) which are then transplanted into micro-incisions made in the bald area.
Regrowth in the transplanted area will begin after about 3 months, and last for a further 4 months.
For very extensive baldness, longer interventions are performed, with extraction and transplantation of 3,000 - 3,500 grafts.
Autotransplantation with FUT Technique
The sampling is performed under local anesthesia by removing a strip of scalp from the occipital region, which is then sutured.

The team divides the strip into grafts containing 1 to 3 bulbs.
The grafts are then transplanted into incisions made in the bald area.
The sutures are removed after 10-12 days.
Regrowth in the transplanted area begins after about 3 months and lasts for a further 4 months.
A linear scar remains in the collection area.
