FUE technique

Can be performed on both male and female patients, the FUE transplantation technique - English acronym for Follicular Unit Extraction - is the most widely used in the field of trichological surgery. This state-of-the-art procedure guarantees a definitive resolution of the alopecia problem.

FUE hair transplantation can be performed by 2-3 doctors at the same time. Although this is a surgical procedure, no scalpel is used, plus no scars and no marks remain on the scalp. The operation time can vary from 4 to 7 hours, depending on the number of hair bulbs needed to cover the area affected by baldness.

The phases of the FUE technique

1. Extraction of the individual follicular units from the donor area

3. Opening of micro-channels in the receiving area by means of a sapphire-tipped pen.

4. Replanting of the individual grafts manually.

1. After local anesthesia, the procedure consists of a mono-bulbar extraction of the follicles from a healthy donor area of ​​the patient's head (generally the nape and sides of the head). Individual units are harvested through tiny portions of skin called grafts. The extraction is performed manually using a special scalpel called a punch.

2. Subsequently, the follicles are carefully selected and stored in a special physiological solution to prevent their integrity.

3. The surgeon opens micro-channels in the recipient area thanks to the use of a sapphire-tipped scalpel.

4. Finally, grafts (grafts) are re-implanted, one by one, within the canals of the area affected by baldness. Replanting is done with a tool called an implanter. The procedure must be done very quickly to prevent the follicular units from dying but, at the same time, with extreme care to be able to place them at the correct angle.

The surgery is minimally invasive because it does not require any incision and leaves no scar. Recovery is fast, because the patient can return to his daily activities within 24 hours. The first results are evident starting from the 6th month after the operation.
